About Us

As a family business, we take great pride in our customer service. Our popularity and reputation in Adelaide can largely be attributed to our dedication to exceed customer expectations on all repairs.

In 2005, owner and operator John Moens established Adelaide Brake and Mechanical. John intended on providing his customers with quality repairs, backed up by friendly, honest customer service. John has worked for leading brake companies and has over 30 years' experience specialising in brake repairs for cars and trailers. Boat trailers are also a specialty of John's and he has a comprehensive knowledge of repairs and services that they require.

The workshop at Adelaide Brake and Mechanical features the latest tools and equipment for performing brake repairs and upgrades, as well as minor mechanical repairs. Our workshop is kept up to date and we also keep our staff up to date with the latest training and industry techniques, ensuring all repairs maintain the highest standard. If your trailer or car is in need of brake or mechanical repairs, we've got you covered. To find out more, or to book in for repair, contact us today.

Dear John,

This email is a bit late, but I did want to thank you for beautiful work. Making our tandem trailer fully roadworthy with brakes that work perfectly, regardless of distance on dirt roads, between braking cycles is a real relief.

As you were aware the previous inappropriate disc brakes, incorrectly fitted, put me a little on edge regarding their appropriateness for a good number of kilometres on often corrugated dirt roads. I thank you for taking the time to point out all the faults with the previous installation, including inadequate washers used to apply preload to the wheel bearings. We had previously spent a lot of money with the trailer manufacturer, going from bad brakes to none at all.

While we may still replace this trailer down the track with a heavier build unit, I am confident that brakes and wheel bearings are not the area of continual concern.
Thank you too for keeping the cost down on this job. It is truly appreciated.
I will be telling others of your quality products and beautiful work. I am also confident we will have more work for you down the track.

Dear John

Thank-you for assisting me with the refurbishment of the Hill Holder in the braking system of my 1947 6G Studebaker "Starlite Coupe". Having just moved back to South Australia it was pleasing to find someone willing and able to work on a 74 year old vintage car.
